2007 Fair Chairman

I would like to thank you for your support of the 45th annual Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair in 2006.
This event is the only fund raiser the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro holds each year to raise money
to put back into our community. Many hours are put into this project by the volunteers of this
club to help imporve the quality of life in the community that we live in.
Because of your support of this fund raiser, we are able to put around $200,000 each year back
into the community through deserving charitable projects which includes the Ronald McDonald House,
Boys and Girls Club, Statesboro-Bulloch County Law Enforcement, Bulloch County EMS, Red Cross,
Area 4-H Clubs, Special Olympics, RIF, Youth Drug Prevention Programs, Ogeechee Area Hospice,
scholarships and many, may more. Approximately $20,000 of this will be paid out during the week
of the fair to adults, young adults and children as prize money for their participation in the
fair. Kiwanis members do not receive compensation for the many hours they volunteer to get ready
for the fair and the many hours it takes during the week.
The people in the yellow jackets and shirts were all members and are volunteers. They were parking
cars, directing traffic, selling tickets, cooking pancakes, keeping the grounds secure and safe or
one of the many other jobs that was required to put this event on. We were there because we
believe in what our club is doing to help make our community a better place to live.
Again, thank you for your continued patronage and support in helping to make this event possible.
We hope to make the 2007 fair the best and most successful fair yet.
Take time to also thank the men and women that are away from home fighting for our freedon so we
can take time to enjoy events like the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair.
